How is crop value calculated in Grow a Garden?

Crop Sheckle value equals base crop value multiplied by weight squared, then multiplied by your best growth mutation and an environmental mutation bracket, plus any friend boost percentage. Weight is measured in kilograms at harvest. A 2 kg carrot sells for four times the value of a 1 kg carrot because weight is squared in the formula.

Do mutations stack on crops?

Growth mutations such as Golden, Rainbow, and Silver do not stack — only the highest growth multiplier applies. Environmental mutations like Wet, Frozen, Shocked, and Celestial use a bracket formula: 1 + (sum of multipliers − number of env mutations). This means stacking multiple environmental mutations can produce enormous value spikes, especially when combining high-tier weather mutations during events.

What is the friend boost and how does it apply?

Friend boost is a percentage bonus applied when friends are active in your session or when certain social perks are active. It multiplies the final crop value after mutations. Enter your friend boost as a decimal (0.10 for +10%) in the calculator. The boost applies uniformly across all crops sold during the boosted period.

Crop Value Formula and Mutation Stacking

Selling crops is the primary Sheckle engine in Grow a Garden, but the on-screen number jumps wildly once mutations enter the picture. Our crop value calculator mirrors the live game math: base crop value times weight squared, times your best growth mutation, times an environmental bracket, adjusted by friend boost. Enter a carrot or a Void Fruit — the same rules apply, which is why high base-value crops dominate end-game farming strategies.

Weight is squared because heavier harvests represent more plant mass. Doubling weight from 1 kg to 2 kg quadruples the weight factor, before mutations even apply. That is why fertilizer, plot upgrades, and pets like Sloth that extend growth timers can pay off: they push mass up, and mass scales exponentially in the final price.

Growth vs environmental mutations

Growth mutations — Silver, Golden, Rainbow, and similar — do not stack with each other. Only the highest growth multiplier counts. If your crop rolls Rainbow at 50×, Golden's 20× stops contributing for that harvest. Environmental mutations behave differently: each adds its multiplier into a bracket calculated as one plus the sum of env multipliers minus the count of env mutations.
